I’m suddenly realizing that with a growing collection of straight pins and needles, I’m in need of a pincushion. Through an Etsy browse, I ran across this one:

This Spring Birdie Pincushion comes from seller createitcottage. The pincushion looks very appropriate for Spring and well-crafted. I would love to get a hold of some felt in that color of green!

During a recent etsy browse, I came across the following Meadow wall graphic. I thought it had a beautiful shape, and the silhouette could add a nice touch of nature to any room. I like that the graphic (made of Vinyl) can be easily removed, making it nice for rented spaces. If you take a look at ellynelly’s other items, you’ll find a lot of other nice designs as well. They all seem to be reasonably priced, too.

I think I’m just a huge sucker for plant silhouettes.

Well, blogger’s block hit me in the head again, so I’m going to have to rely on my good friend “Etsy Finds”.

Despite that introduction, which may have sounded a bit dull, I absolutely love this pillow! Birds, cherry blossoms, and green? Sounds like a perfect combo to me.

I highly advise checking out joom’s other pillows. They’re all quite beautiful and seem like things I would make if I could ever learn how to paint branches correctly. And birds for that matter…

Welcome weekend, welcome Spring! Okay, so truthfully, I didn’t really welcome Spring in yesterday. To be honest, I don’t like Spring. Maybe it’s because I love winter so much, that I loathe anything that stops it. Sure, I love the flowers and blooming things, but I just don’t like overly warm weather; I feel like Spring exists to take Winter away from me and maliciously taunt me with tastes of Summer’s nasty heat. Eh, enough of my complaining and on to my find for the day!

I don’t want to wear out the “Etsy Finds” feature of my blog through over-use, but I just thought this one seemed too appropriate. When I was in Kindergarten and/or First Grade (I can’t remember which), slap bracelets were a huge fad. I remember, however, that the metal prototypes had a nasty tendency to poke through the plastic outer-wrap and become really sharp. The bright, neon colors of the early nineties make them seem even less appealing now. Luckily, Etsy seller beepbeephello made a very trendy looking slap bracelet, utilizing a recycled slap bracelet core and a knitted outer sleeve.

Because the bracelet core is recycled and the yarn is made out of wool and hemp, it’s environmentally friendly. The bracelet (and the photo in particular) looked very Spring-y to me. It all looks appropriate for the upcoming Easter weekend. Whether you celebrate the holiday or not, I hope you have a safe and happy one!

Every once in a while, I’ll post an Etsy find that catches my eye. Today’s find made me originally think of my mom, who absolutely loves playing Scrabble. These keychains are also available as earrings from the same seller, XOHandworks. I think they’re a nice size for a keychain: not too large, but not tiny, either.

I like how one of these could make for a non-obnoxious monogram gift, suitable for a man or a woman. Finding it on Etsy added a nice bit of spunk to my day!

Let me explain...

chortles iconI often chortle in amusement. Since I'm easily pleased, the smallest things that catch my senses can quickly make my day. Chortles is a blog of my life, simplified to what catches my aesthetic; this sensory experience continues my ongoing quest to be as creative as I can be.
